Swirling unlocks depths of dried black cherry, dusty rose, crushed stone, violet pastille and clove. It’s round and soothing on the palate, with perfumed red berry fruit, mineral tones and textures of pure silk. The Brunello has been made since 1971, always and only from the family’s vineyards on the hill of Montosoli. The fresh nose builds gradually with accents of candied lilac, mint, rooibos tea and punctuating, brambly berries. Judiciously weighted with glossy fruit, this expands smoothly with plentiful tannins that are the texture of fine sand. Nutmeg and liquorice perfume the palate. The acidity is cool and refreshing, and a pleasantly bitter finish lingers with pine and walnut. Already likable but not quite ready. Drinking window 2028-2040 (Nov 2025)”
