Description
Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Poggio al Vento 2015 is the Top selection of Col d’Orcia. Winery located on the hills that overlooks the Orcia river which marks the South -West border of the Brunello appellation. The estate’s modern-day lineage goes back to at least 1890, when records show the Franceschi family of Florence purchased the property. Then acquired by the Cinzano family in 1973 who brought it to a whole new level. The winery is one of the oldest ever established in Montalcino, dates back to 1890. Despite the size (140 hectars of which 108 Brunello) it manages to deliver organic wines and great wines.

Lots of plum, toffee, floral and cherry aromas that follow through to a full body with ripe, round tannins that follow through to a long, gorgeous finish. From organically grown grapes. Lovely now, but better in a year or two. James Suckling
